The one benefit of a water leak from a pipe and not rainwater intrusion is that the water initially is clean and not contaminated with outside debris and chemicals. This generally means that by placing several air movers and dehumidifiers in strategic spots the carpet and padding can be dried with lifting the carpet from the edges to force warm air into the affected area. But, if the amount of water were too much, then we would pull the carpet from the tack strips and "float" the carpet to extract all the residual moisture.
