Water Damage in Agoura – Leaky Toilet or Worse
Have you ever had water damage from a leaky toilet or one that has overflowed? If you catch the problem quickly enough, the damage can be limited to messy wet floors. The first step is always to shut the water valve off. It is located to the side of or behind the toilet. Turning the valve off stops the water from flowing and continuing to spread over your floors as well as inside the vanity.
Another water loss in Agoura homes such as a leaking water connection behind the toilet or a broken wax seal can be more problematic. The main supply line may need to be shut off to stop the damage from continuing. The leak may go unnoticed for some time allowing water to soak into the floor, surrounding joists supporting the subfloor along with the possibly a buildup of mold colonies. SERVPRO technicians, arriving quickly, We're Faster To Any Size Disaster, can mitigate the damage.
The wax seal is a component of your toilet that provides a watertight seal between your commode and the drainage pipe. In time, especially in older homes, the bolts that secure this seating can rust and break. This water is considered Gray Water, or if it contains fecal matter, it is a category three Black Water incidence. Our trained technicians can don the appropriate protective gear and remove this contamination from the premises. If the water tank is cracked on the commode, that is considered clean water and a wipe up, and drying can preserve surrounding fixtures.
Our service vehicles contain all the necessary equipment to remove the water, dry out the affected area, and sanitize and deodorize it before we leave. Some of our equipment:
- mops, squeegees, buckets, and elbow grease
- wet/dry vacs
- truck-mounted pumps
- air moves and dehumidifiers
- foggers
